Page General Information General Information Pre-disassembly Instructions Before proceeding with the disassembly procedure, make sure that you do the following: 1.
Turn off the power to the system and all peripherals. Unplug the AC adapter and all power and signal cables from the system. External Modules Disassembly Flowchart The flowchart below gives you a graphic representation on the entire disassembly sequence and instructs you on the components that need to be removed during servicing. For example, if you want to remove the main board, you must first remove the keyboard, then disassemble the inside assembly frame in that order.
Turn computer over. Pull the battery lock latch in the direction shown. Pull and hold the battery release latch into the open position 1 , then lift out the battery pack from the main unit 2. Push the SD dummy card inwards to eject it. Pull the card out from the slot. Push the 3G card into the slot to eject it.
Push down on the four 4 latches holding the top center of the keyboard. Pull up the top center of the keyboard. Turn the keyboard over. Page 62 5. Unlock the FPC. Remove the FPC and the keyboard. Remove the four 4 screws from the upper cover as shown.

Lift the right side speaker from the Lower Cover as shown. Remove the single screw in the lower-left corner securing the Mainboard to the Lower Cover.
Page 93 4. Turn the Mainboard over to expose the CRT cable connector. Disconnect the CRT cable as shown. Disconnect the RTC Battery as shown. Lift the battery upward to detach the adhesive. Attach the replacement battery to the Mainboard and connect the cable as shown. Remove the three screws securing the Thermal Module to the Mainboard. Lift the Thermal Module clear of the Mainboard. Remove the six screws securing the bezel to the LCD Module.
Starting from the inside top edge, pry the bezel away from the panel. Continue moving along the top, prying the bezel away from the LCD Module. Page 98 4. Work down the sides as shown, then pry apart the bottom edge to remove the bezel.
Lift up the bezel and remove it from the LCD Module. Disconnect the cable from the Camera Board as shown. Release the LCD cables from the hinge brackets as shown. Lift the Microphone Module upward to detach the adhesive holding it in place. Page 5. Remove the four securing screws two each side from the LCD Brackets. Turn the LCD panel over on a clean surface.
Lift the cable protection strip away from the LCD Panel to detach the adhesive securing it in place. Page 4. Carefully lift the adhesive tape securing the cable connector to the LCD Panel. NOTE: The vertical strip shown in the final image may appear on the right of the panel for some models.
Take care not to bend the pad during removal. Remove the protective covering on the left and right Antenna pads. Run the left side cable down the side and along the lower edge of the LCD Module using all the available cable clips. Ensure that the Antennas run through the hinge well as shown to avoid trapping when the LCD Panel is replaced. NOTE: The vertical strip shown in the first image may appear on the right of the panel for some models.
